Binge-Worthy Shows to watch on Zee5

Hello guys,

Hope you all are safe and at home, so basically there are two types of people in this lockdown

  1. Who loves to learn new things/skills/experiment and be productive
  2. Binge-watch and take naps all day/night long

I am sure you must be one of the above, as for me I’m 70%-30% both most of the time I’m productive and I have days where I feel like doing nothing and so go on a binge-watching spree. Recently, I have been hooked on some amazing shows on Zee5 and so I thought its only fair to share it with y’all in this post.

Well, if you’ve finished watching everything on your binge-list, hold up, because looks like you haven’t heard about the new addition of Zindagi shows to the Zee5 family.

So, let me share more details about the new shows

  1. Aunn Zara – it is a beautifully depicted and complete family entertainer directed by Haissam Hussain. It delightfully shows marital woes in an extremely relatable way. The series is based on a novel ‘Hisar-e-Mohabbat’ by Faiza Iftikhar.

Aunn and Zara are two opposite characters – Aunn lives in a matricentric home governed by women while Zara is the only female member of her family and a daughter of a rigid army officer. They meet, romance sparks and eventually concludes into a marriage. Post-wedding scenes and woes are really interesting to bind the audience.

It is a seamless and fast-paced series with no over-stretched scene or low key drama, I’m sure you’ll enjoy watching it!

2 – Shehr-e- Zaat – right from the title to cast direction and story everything about this Urdu series is extremely impressive. The title means ‘The city of Self’ and it is a beautiful spiritual-romantic Pakistani series which has Mahira Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Mohib Mirza and Samina Peerzada playing the lead roles. The story revolves around Falak (Mahira Khan), who is the only child to rich parents and a fine arts student, she imagines about her prince charming, the man of her dreams while creating and crafting sculptures and later finds and obsesses over a man, Salman(Mikaal Zulfiqar) who kind of resonates to her dreamy imagination. She eventually marries him but he doesn’t treat her properly and latter a calamitous occasion pulls both apart which brings Falak closer to god.

The series is interestingly depicted with sensible and clear views. The acting is gripping and it is worth the watch.

3 – Badi Aapa –  It is directed by Saife Hassan and the main role is played by Savera Nadeem and Noman Ejaz as Zubeida and Farman respectively. It is a melodious love drama with several plot twists and revelations, the story is unpredictable yet relatable for the audience, the twists are intriguing to keep you hooked, the cinematography is perfectly done and acting is brilliant.

It is a full pack emotional and well-directed drama, which ought not to be missed watching. So, go and check it out

4 – Mastana Mahi – it is directed by Roomi Insha, the story tales around a martyred politician ‘Adal’ played by Fahad Mustafa and two lead lady characters starring Mehreen Raheel as Aaleen and Arisha Razi as Suhai. It is an interesting political story with many twists and turns, the direction is simple yet beautifully showcased, the dialogues are quite gripping, the chemistry of the lead pair is wonderfully depicted and the screenplay is simply amazing. It is a good entertaining drama series which challenges love, politics, society and it is one of the exciting series you shouldn’t skip so, now you know which series to watch next.

5 – Noorpur ki Rani – It is directed by Haissam Hussain, it is an Urdu drama based on the novel ‘Rebecca’ by Lady Browning. The 23 episode series stars Sanam Baloch, Noman Ijaz and Mahnoor Baloch. It is a beautiful emotional story of Noorulain Aneez – Noorie, it is directed brilliantly and it tales around courage, innocence and charm. Noorie has many hopes in her life and her life comes to an interesting twist. The story portrays how one should never lose hope and dreams do come true in strangest of ways.

This series is my personal favourite out of all, I think you should check it out yourself and I’m sure you’ll love it as well!

6 – Main Abdul Qadir Hoon – It is directed by Babar Javed, the show stars Fahad Mustafa and Alishba Yousuf as Abdul Qadir and Zareen respectively. The series portrays a roller coaster life ride of Abdul Qadir – who is a rich, notorious teenager and grows up to be a responsible gentleman. It also shows the life of rich, posh people who can make serious life mistakes, fail miserably and can afford to start a new life in a foreign place – London. The series also portrays class division, the emotional journey of transformation and later on, reveals about true life calling and finding true love.

The show features strong, sassy and classy women while men are shown decent, polite as well as misogynist, abusive. I enjoyed watching this series and it is a roller coaster life ride of Abdul Qadir.

So, now I hope you all know what to watch next according to your taste.
