Styling A Basic Kurti In 5 Creative Ways – Ultimate Women’s Guide

Hello, my wonderful readers,

One should never underestimate the beauty of an Indian wear, although if you know me personally, you will find me flaunting cute dresses or ripped denim most of the times but whenever I have to attend family function or some Indian event I leave no stone unturned to flaunt Indian wear, well I don’t like my Indian ethnic wear to be boring and so I always style it in unusual ways or by mix and match, also I don’t buy Indian wear often because why to spend thousands of bucks on something which I am only going to wear once or maybe twice in a family event and as you know once I am done clicking picture of a particular outfit for the Instagram, I don’t like to repeat it.

Instead what I like to do is wear the same outfit in creative ways, this way both my style would be reflected in wonderful ways and I also get to save my bucks! Now, this is great, isn’t it?

So, here in this post, I will be telling you about how you can style your plain kurti in many different and unusual ways! All you need is a plain coloured kurti and you are good to experiment various styles with it!

I have chosen an orange colour long plain kurti

  • Modern Twisted Knot Look – this is my favourite look and the most simple amongst the others, I have just worn the kurti and to break apart from the normal boring look I have tied a simple knot in the right end, it beautifully creates a pleat making it look boho and I have accessorized by wearing colourful bangles and golden neckpiece which matches the orange tone of the outfit and makes it radiant, I have paired it dark orange hand clutch and golden flats as I wanted this look to be comfortable yet chic. This look is perfect for summer as it is simple, light and carefree. I can wear this look all day and stay vibrant!

  • Colourful Boho Jacket – I love how quirky this jacket is and it instantly adds sass to the whole outfit, I haven’t bought this jacket separately, this is the original outfit pair. The jacket has pompoms and colourful embroidery on the front and I just love it! it simply looks gorgeous and the jacket catches the attention if you want to add quirkiness to the dull outfit, just wear this jacket and you are good to go! It is indeed fun and stylish look. I would definitely wear it to a family function or some casual Indian function. The good thing about this look is you don’t need to accessorize it as the jacket is doing all the eye-catching work. So, you are good to go to any function and make heads turn!

  • Traditional look with Pink Dupatta– This look is when you completely want to go for Indian style, I wanted to mix up my look with bright colour and what better than orange and pink colour combination, so I styled the orange kurti by adding pink coloured dupatta and I love how traditional it looks and the combination looks oh-so-amazing! The typical aunties and relatives would definitely compliment this look as it is basic Indian dress, so one can easily wear this look to temples, religious centres and other such Indian functions which I am not so fond of, anyways I have paired a colourful neck piece to add to the colour hues of the look and I absolutely love it!

  • Layering Sheer Crop Top – In this look, I have layered the kurti by wearing a sheer net crop top, who said we can only wear a crop top with denim or skirts? Here I have paired it with kurti and look how modern and elegant it looks! The creativity is in our mind and we just need to make sure we use it in right ways like I have styled this look differently! It definitely looks like I have worn maxi or long dress, I have paired it with golden neckpiece to enhance the look and white bag to co-ordinate the white crop top, I love this flowy and unusual look.

  •  Casual Neon Stole Look – In this look, I have draped a neon orange stole over the neck and it makes for a perfect casual outfit, the style factor is doubled by the stole and I have paired it with cute golden bracelet which looks adorable, so this outfit is very casual and you can wear it when you have no time to get ready or when you feel very lazy to dress up! Also, the stole can be really useful to cover your face when you are out and about during the day in the summer!
